Every figure, with its source

One row per published figure: the figure as the source's own page publishes it, the page, and the day it was read. A figure that is not on a page we read is not on this one.

The sentence each figure was read from (8)
  • GOV.UK, EPCs for your business premises, read 2026-10-11: You can be fined between £500 and £5,000 based on the rateable value of the building if you do not make an EPC available to any prospective buyer or tenant.
  • nibusinessinfo, enforcement of EPCs, read 2026-10-11: A formula is used as the costs of producing an EPC for business premises varies according to the size, complexity and use of the building. The range of penalties under this formula is set with a minimum of £500 and a maximum of £5,000.
  • nibusinessinfo, enforcement of EPCs, read 2026-10-11: If you find the outcome of the review unsatisfactory, you may appeal to the County Court within 28 days of receiving a notice confirming the penalty charge notice from the district council.
  • GOV.UK, EPCs for your business premises, read 2026-10-11: The cost of an EPC will depend on the building being assessed. All EPCs are valid for 10 years.
  • GOV.UK, non-domestic MEES landlord guidance, read 2026-10-11: The prohibition on letting a non-domestic property below an EPC energy efficiency rating of E does not apply if a landlord can show that the cost of purchasing and installing a recommended improvement or improvements does not meet a simple 7 year payback test.
  • GOV.UK, non-domestic MEES landlord guidance, read 2026-10-11: You may claim a 6 months exemption from the date you became a landlord.
  • GOV.UK, non-domestic MEES landlord guidance, read 2026-10-11: Register this exemption if you have evidence showing that making energy efficiency improvements to your property would devalue it by more than 5%.
  • GOV.UK, non-domestic MEES landlord guidance, read 2026-10-11: This exemption lasts 5 years.

12 named sources were read in full on the dates shown and print no usable figure. They are counted, never filled in.

Methodology

Every row is a verbatim sentence read from the named source's own page through our fetch service on the date shown, hash-pinned to the stored read (the sha of the page's visible text; the raw page is mirrored to R2).

3 of the 15 named sources that could be read published a usable figure; 12 published none and are recorded as not published, never filled in; 0 could not be read (blocked, dead or unreachable) and count nowhere.

The headline figures (median, minimum, maximum, quartiles) are over ONE figure per source in GBP (a source's median where its page yielded several accepted sentences), so N counts sources, never sentences; 28 candidate sentence(s) were refused by a reviewer with the reason recorded.

The fuller derivation this dataset is chartered to grow into (not yet what the figures above are; they are each source's own published figure as read): Four nations, four different answers, and no page anywhere puts them in one table.

The derivation is the comparison: for England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, the trigger (sale, new let, construction), the certificate's validity, the minimum rating that permits a letting, the exemption routes with their terms, the penalty formula and its ceiling, and the enforcing body - each cell read from that nation's own authority and dated, with the change history (the EPC B trajectory's status, Scotland's 2025 regulations) carried beside the current rule.

The penalty is the buyer's real comparison to the fee: £500 to £5,000 by rateable value in England and Wales for no certificate against up to £150,000 for letting below the standard, 12.5% of rateable value in Northern Ireland, and section 63 action-plan duties in Scotland that England has no equivalent of.

The price index's median sits against that number on the page.

28 candidate sentences on these pages were refused by a reviewer; each refusal and its reason is recorded in the review ledger.
